I'm extremely grateful to have the opportunity to volunteer as a writer at the Singapore Red Cross as the interviews I conduct with Volunteer Leaders and beneficiaries bring me closer to the community in Singapore. I enjoy learning about their inspiring journeys and the heartwarming moments they share together, and encouraging a spirit of volunteerism in my audience.
I have fully immersed myself into my school's theater community - I really enjoy the experience of performing because of the the energy you get from the audience and the thrill of not knowing what's going to happen next. Ranging from a stagehand to a performer to a director to a mentor, I have participated in more than 12 productions, including pieces I have written myself. I can't wait to continue in college!
As my school's head of debate, I have worked to strike a balance between enriching the older debaters who are ready to dive into national competitions and nurturing the younger ones so they can be gradually introduced to the competitive format. To that end, I started 'The Great Debate' where I taught more than 80 younger students about the ins and outs of debate, and gave them an opportunity to practice.
As a debater myself, my team won the Raffles Debate Association (RDA) Competition in 2022, we got to the top 4 out of 54 teams in the International Debating Championships in 2023. and we were plate semi-finalists at the Ministry of Education-Anglo Chinese Junior College Debate competition 2024

As a School House Leader, I helped organize school-wide events like the House Day and House Quizzes to improve student well-being. I also organized the School Fun Run to raise over $10,000 for ARC Children's Centre - Singapore's first charity day care facility designed to nurture children fighting serious childhood illnesses.
I found my community of fellow alpacas at the World Scholars Cup, where my team ranked 1st in the world, and I won the Asimov Award for the highest individual score in the quiz, along with the best Scholar in the Region. I continue to enjoy this activity by training future generations of scholars weekly on all 3 competition disciplines - debate, writing and quizzing. #SpreadThePwaa.
As the captain of my school's NAQT (National Academic Quiz Tournaments) team, I've led my team to two second-place positions in the NAQT Asia Seoul Foreign Championship and Spring Invitational. I also got the highest individual score in these tournaments. Throughout the school years, I mentored team members, organized weekly practice sessions and managed weekly team rosters for quiz leagues.
I organized debating skill sessions and an Economics Debate Competition, and I mentored upcoming debaters using economics-related motions (because they were my favorite as they required high levels of analytical and critical thinking)! I also organized the school Economics Forum in 2023, where I connected with Mr. Pradeep Nair, Global Head Structured Solutions & Development, Standard Chartered Bank to conduct a live interview during the event about supply chains and sustainable trade finance.
I've always been very passionate about piano-playing, because of the relaxing atmosphere it creates, and the satisfying feeling of mastering a melody. I completed the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) Grade 5 qualification, and participated in school & external concerts. The highlight was helping my piano teacher as a tutor - I enjoyed connecting with them and giving exam advice during the weekly sessions I organized & conducted.
